FAQ

What is Godward?

Godward is a brand new small business (often a one-woman show!) that sells more than Christian apparel. The premium, heavy cotton streetwear and casual wear we offer is often direct quotes from the Scripture itself.

Jesus often starts his sentences with "Haven't you read..." and this is what we're turning towards. We desperately need the Word in our everyday life to hug us and support us wherever we go.

Is Godward only for self-described Christians?

Absolutely not! We are for everyone, just like Christ is for everyone. The founder herself started out as an Atheist until Jesus addressed her in the darkest moments of her life. We are for the agnostics, the seculars, the Catholics, the Protestants, the "non-denominationals", the atheist "cultural Christians", the doubters, the curious, the hopeful and the ones who are going through that time of their lives when Christ calls them. That will be your testimony.

Are all your clothes 100% cotton?

All our clothes, including our T-shirts and sweatshirts are made of 100% heavyweight cotton unless stated otherwise, such as in the case of some beanies that can't be produced that way.

We always strive to choose colours that can be dyed on 100% cotton.

We love thick, heavyweight cotton that feels like a warm hug (and let's be honest, feels and looks pretty luxurious).

Are all your clothes unisex? How do they fit?

Our clothes are always unisex, often an aesthetic and slightly oversized fit, so it doesn't awkwardly stick to our figure if we want a more humble or airy look. Not so long ago fashion experts claimed that people with a more clean fashion sense always aim for an ever so slightly oversized look.

Some clothes are named "women's" such as the Eve Genesis Tee. It's not because it has a specific feminine cut. These clothes have the same premium unisex fit, anyone can buy them, only the design is a bit more targeted towards girls and women. The same goes to garments with the word "men's" in the title.

If any future products will be specifically cut for a gender, it will be clearly stated.

What are the ethics behind your sourcing and shipping?

We are a print on demand service. This means any single one of our clothes are only printed if a customer actually orders them. So zero warehousing, zero excessive waste that pollutes space and environment.

Our production partner (Printful) has incredibly strict environmental and human rights standards when it comes to who makes the blank items and where, and in what conditions. We are always able to give you the exact sourcing locations if you're curious about any of our blank products. Regular sourcing locations include Bangladesh, Honduras or the US itself.

When it comes to shipping, our production partner will always aim to produce and ship your products from the closest facility to you, often domestically.

Our production partner will always ship your product with a carrier that makes the most sense environmentally and logistically, and always with a tracking number.

Does Jesus hate merchants? Our pricing and transparency:

Absolutely not! Jesus warns us about the excessive greed and thieving nature that we witness among the owners of large corporations. Specifically the people who do not sell things to put food on the table and a roof over their head, but to grow their mountain of wealth at the misfortune of their buyers. People who sell something at multiple times the price that they could have sold it for - and then don't give back to their community spiritually, don't donate financially, don't live according to the commandments.

Here at Godward we just have launched in August 2025 as we are writing these lines. Zero previous experience. Zero connections to small, indie or private partners where we could bulk order our clothes and make it cheaper for you and for ourselves. All we have is one 7-year-old laptop, a tight budget, and a production partner who are ethical, but produce our clothes at high prices.

After the production fees, baked-in shipping fees, transaction fees, and the occasional VAT, we are happy if we are left with £5 to £8 profit per sale. We are grateful for every penny and will use that money to invest into Instagram ads, to invest into a video editing subscription in the future to make more short-form content, and to keep spreading the Gospel through these means.

Jesus asked his disciples to spread the Gospel to the four corners of the world and to give away any excess wealth we have that's not needed for basic survival. At Godward, we see that as a mission. We can't wait to get to a stage in our business when we can truly give back other than spreading the Word with our clothes.
